Before Superman was smitten with Lois Lane, Clark Kent's crush was Smallville sweetheart, Lana Lang. Vancouver beauty Kristin Kreuk plays the object of Clark’s affection on the WBs hit series, "Smallville.” But she says this earth girl isn't easy. In fact, most of the time, Clark can't get near her.
Kristin says, “Lana wears a green necklace that happens to be kryptonite. Clark Kent can't get within five feet of Lana Lang without turning into a total freak show."
This 19-year-old fresh face says while she's thrilled to be in "Smallville," she never really wanted to be an actress. She says, “I never foresaw my life being the way it is right now, because the way I saw it, I’d be in a university right now."
But after a handful of high school plays, she grabbed a gig as the new girl on the Canadian teen-soap, "Edgemont." Then the half-Chinese, half-Dutch stunner took-up residence in “Smallville.” It’s a super gig for Kristen since the show's shot in her hometown of Vancouver, Canada.
The downside is the Canuck cutie gets plenty of abuse from the cast about the wet weather. She says, “I'm the one who's always like, no! Vancouver doesn't rain all the time! It's sunny! Really it is!"
That's not sunshine, Kristin, it's the spotlight. And right now it's shining on you.
